Bele Obbattu is prepared with the Bele Hoorana which is the fine mixture of Togari Bele / Toor dal and Bella / Jaggery as the main ingredient and an outer layer of Chiroti rava and Maida powder, mixed to form a Dough. The sweet dish tastes even better when served with Ghee or Milk. Bele Obbattu is the offering which is mandatory during the Hindu calendar new-year of Ugadi. The mixture of Toor dal and Jaggery are considered as auspicious. Hence, Bele Obbattu is served as a favourite sweet during other main occasions also.
